One of the big things people enjoyed about Scion was the no haggle pricing. Everyone paid what the sticker said. I’m assuming that will be gone now that they will be Toyotas? Are base prices going to shoot up? Will there be actual trim levels now? Are we going to have to play games with pricing?

Unlikely
Doubt it
Yes

I had two thoughts when I read the news. First one was, “Man, I wonder how cheap someone could get an iM or tC during a fire sale!”
But after thinking about everything being sold as a Toyota henceforth, I was like, “Shit, sounds like they might be more expensive...”

In a related note, I’ve got like a shit load of Scion ballcaps/beanies from auto shows over the last ten years. Does this mean I’m a millionaire?

Am I the only one who thinks people who pay sticker are suckers? I always thought that meant you can't negotiate and it was very bad/embarrasing to pay msrp on a new car. Someone please explain why this is considered awesome or unique it just sounds like a huge ripoff and pain to buy

Pay full sticker? Like a Saturn? Surely you jest!

Anecdotally I told my coworker that Scion was dead. He was like, didn’t they do the no haggle pricing? I’m like, yes. He’s like, that’s why I never bought one.

I bought a Series 10 FR-S in 2013. I haggled to get below sticker. No haggle pricing is not concrete.
That said, the no haggle will not hang around. They will be treated like every other Toyota.

A lot of people liked the idea of paying the same price. Not everyone wants to negotiate or likes the games dealers can play. It was a good feeling knowing that you and your neighbor and your grandma would all pay the same.

It failed for Saturn too. I guess it isn’t the perfect dealer solution

I really hope they add a higher trim level to the iA. I find the normal urethane/plastic steering wheel pretty disappointing compared to the rest of the car. That said, I also hope that the FR-S is renamed the GT86 or something along those lines.
If anything, I really wish that they’d name the iM the Corolla Hatchback.
Also, hey Justin. How have you been?

Supposedly it’ll be the Toyota FR-S :/
Doing alright though. Time is flying by

I feel like everyone in the world has at least 5. One day scion will be known as a hugely successful hat maker that also tried selling cars.

Right. You think you are getting a fair deal but rip you a new one on trade in and financing. No haggel is just a scam to make the suckers feel better about their purchase.
Go on YouTube and look up four square selling. Tons of training vids there for car salesmen. Interesting to see the playbook from the other side.
